SHABBAT THIS WEEK:
Programs, Classes & EventsÂ
In addition to weekly Shabbat services, our community hosts regular programs and special events related to Jewish learning and Torah writ large. Past classes have included our Aleph Bet Intensive, courses with Dr. Justin Sledge on subjects like The Biblical Prophets and Jewish Apocalypticism, programs on ritual facilitation, community organizing and activism, and more.
Upcoming Events:
Mondays, March 11 - May 12
Judaism 101
Offered via Synagogues Rising. Together we will explore meaningful, practical, and creative ways to integrate Judaism into our daily lives. Whether you are taking the first step on your Jewish journey, deepening an ongoing Jewish practice, or not sure where to start, absolutely everyone is welcome!

Recurring Programs
Lunchtime Learning Torah Study
Wednesdays, 12 PM [Zoom]
Reading a chunk of Torah each week, known as parashat ha-shavua ("weekly portion"), is one of our most ancient religious practices. Come and learn!
Speculative Wisdom:
Sci-Fi & Jewish Lore Book Club
Bi-monthly on Sunday afternoons [Zoom]
Speculative Wisdom is a book club and text study group that invites participants to gaze into the future through the lens of sci-fi and speculative fiction, and into the past through the lens of Jewish tradition.
Kids Shabbat / Torah Story Time
3rd Shabbat of the month, 10 AM - 12 PM
Each month, we have a special "playful and prayful" Kids Shabbat service, held at the same time as adult morning services. Parents are welcome to drop their kiddos off and daven in the main service, or stay for the duration. All ages welcome! Tailored for 4-7 year olds, with bite-sized doses of traditional liturgy, singing and music-making, a bit of Jewish education, and of course, story time!
Getting Good at Getting Older
Monthly on 3rd Weds., 6:30 - 8:00 PM
Rabbi Laura Geller’s Book, Getting Good at Getting Older will serve as our guide as we hold monthly discussion among the cohort of active seniors, their allies and friends of T’chiyah. Each program is stand-alone, so you can join us even if you haven't attended previous programs.
Beyond the Five Books:
NaKh Reading Group
Bi-monthly, dates vary [Zoom]
There's more to the Hebrew Bible than just the Torah (Genesis through Deuteronomy) -- Join us to read through the books of NaKh (Nevi'im and Ketuvim, that is "Prophets" and "Writings"), book-club style - i.e., independent reading with periodic group discussion.
T'chiyah has been a second family to me, and my spiritual home. The outpouring of friendship, community and care within the T'chiyah body is like nothing I have experienced elsewhere. It is a source of pride for me that I can include myself among its members.
- Stephanie D.
T'chiyah member since 2020
